FUNDS COLLECTION IS CLOSED!
Katya passed away on May 6, 2013.
Katya Shevchenko was born on December 15, 2011. In the Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of Kyiv it became clear that the girl has very dangerous heart diseases. First surgery was maintained May 10.
The little Katya could not recover, she was getting worse and worse. On that time the second and unique operation was maintaned on auto transplantation of mitral valve (reverse Ross). In Europe such operation for such a little girl was made first time. This priceless experience on a very unique operation can also help for other kids.
Many thanks to the doctors who agreed to maintain this operation for free of charge. The family have paid the first correction and reanimation by their own efforts.
NGO ”SaveLife” from the bottom of its heart would like to thank all Katya’s doctors from the Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of Kyiv for their compassion, sensitive heart and talented hands.
The recovery of the baby is very difficult. Her left hand and leg do not function well,
A couple of days ago it was found out that Katya’s condition worsened. The girl spent some time in the reanimation of the Municipality Children Clinic Hospital of V. Ignatenko.
After consulting with experts from Kyiv a conclusion was made according to which Katya needs an additional valve repair as soon as possible.
In an urgent matter we are reopening the collection of funds for one more surgery the cost of which is 15.000 Euro.
