Rusu Gabriel, 7 years

Gabriel Rusu is 7 years old. He grew up as a curious and active child with no apparent health problems. But not until this year, when Gabriel has suddenly began complaining of the chest pain. In July 2012, he was sent to Kiev for examination and doctors diagnosed him with quite serious diagnosis: patent ductus arteriosus, patent foramen ovale, atrial septal defect. Moldovan doctors are too cautious about operating Gabriel but doctors at the Medical Scientific-Practical Center of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in Kiev give Gabriel a chance. The estimated cost of surgery is 7,000 Euro.

Gabriel is the oldest among three brothers. Mihai is 3 years old and David is only 1 year old. Their mom is sitting with the children at home, and their dad has no stable income. They can’t afford a costly surgery but don’t lose hope in people with kind hearts.

For now, Gabriel is preparing for the school. He goes to the second grade this year. He is quite good with arts but soccer is his real true passion. It used to be, if be exact. The lightest physical activity is very hard, if not impossible, to him right now. A healthy heart will give him chance to play again and score goals. Let’s help Gabriel to become a champion!
