Caus Ionela, 13 years

Ionela was born on the 21st May 2003. The girl was born prematurely, on the 30th week of the mother’s pregnancy. Immediately after the birth the baby was diagnosed with congenital obstructive hydrocephalus. At 3 months Ionela underwent her first surgery, and at one year she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Since her birth the girl has passed through many surgeries. She needs regular operations for reducing the spasticity (the constraint, the supertension) of her muscles – Ulsibat-method operations which are now performed in Moldova’s Terra Med clinic by Russian surgeons. We are planning to have four operations which we hope will help the girl start moving in the future. Ionela is a gay and active child, she likes music but most of all she likes to play with her puppy. The girl goes to school and hopes to be able to get there by herself, just like all her classmates, but now she needs the help of the adults.

Up to now Ionella had 3 rehabilitation courses. Doctors recommend not to stop now, as the response to the treatment is very good. Little girl needs another course of kinetotherapy, costing 9640 MDL. Unfortunatelly , parents do not have possibility to cover it, and they have to apply to us again for help.
