On June 7th 2011 a wonderful kid was born, his loving parents named him Vadim. This boy came to this world weak and with multiple malformations of the upper limbs: right hand of the boy had 6 fingers and the thumb was deformed, and on the left hand instead of the thumb was hanging a piece of skin. Vadim was diagnosed with congenital heart disease on the second day of his life. Doctors’ prognoses were disappointing, but this baby was fighting for his life. But everything became more or less OK. He underwent a surgery to remove extra finger on the right hand and the thumb on the left hand. Today, despite of the deformed hand, this kid has no difficulties in any of his endeavors. Vadim is growing fast; he is very active, curious, sincere, kind and handsome boy. He knows a lot of poems and fairytales. At the age of 1 year and 9 months he knows the alphabet.

Parents were hoping that the heart defect (VSD) will close, but the miracle, unfortunately, did not happen. Now Vadim is 3 years old and he needs a heart surgery in Scientific-Practical Medical Center of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in Kiev. Surgery cost is 4 278 Euro. Parents managed to collect 1,000 euros. We need to raise another 3 278 Euro (~ 60 900 lei).

Vadim is not attending kindergarten; it is contraindicated with his diagnosis. His Mom cannot get back to work; she devotes herself to son and is doing her best in order to create a positive and developing atmosphere at home. Parents believe that after this surgery and the recovery process, everything will get better; Vadim will be able to attend kindergarten and will continue bringing lot of happiness to Mom and Dad.
