Usually, parents of seriously ill children they ask for our help. One time a girl wrote to us by herself. Alexandra is 18 years old; her trouble is 3 degree thoracic scoliosis with spinal deformity. For the last 10 years, Alexandra has struggled with illness, but her family has no funds for proper treatment. In 2010, the girl had been refuse for costly surgery and for implants for the correction of the spine.

Later, doctors advised the Makovei family at the clinic in Ingushetia (Russia), where the treatment of such disease does not include surgery.

After 3 months of treatment in Ingushetia the health of Alexandra was improved. But she still needs 2-3 months of rehabilitation courses, as this form of scoliosis is very complicated. The cost of treatment is 280 000 Russian Rubles (about 106 500 MDL). Alexandra’s parents have tried to cover the costs of staying and relocating abroad.

Alexandra’s parents also have two other younger brothers, her mom and dad are not officially working, and that’s why they can not afford such payments.

The meaning of the name of Alexandra is “defender of the people”. Today our Alexandra is very vulnerable and she needs help from kind people. She needs a Helping Hand!
