Two months ago a little princess was born in the Morari family. The mom and dad, and two older brothers, welcomed a long-awaited Vladislava. The child has been progressing well and gaining weight, and family would not be happier if not a serious disease that Vlada had.

At birth, Vlada was diagnosed with the upper eyelid coloboma. This congenital abnormality (which is also known as an aborted eyelid) is a serious threat. Vlada’s eyes are very sensitive to the light, so even when she sleeps, her eyelid does not fully cover the eyeball. If surgery is not done on time, the coloboma might result in serious complications. The child may go blind.

The cost of surgery is 17 895 lei. This is quite a large amount of money for the family, as Vlada’s mother is on maternity leave, and her father has no permanent income (besides, the family has other children to support).
