Portean Valentin, 15 years

Valentin was born healthy in 2000. But unfortunately, when he was 6 years old he was diagnosed with progressive muscular dystrophy. This is a serious disease that weaken muscles and hamper locomotion (walking or moving). His family started their fight against this disease in 2006. It took years of expensive surgeries, medical procedures and rehabilitation.

Parents and a boy where hoping that advanced methods of treatment in the European Medicine Academy, Poland will cure his disease. We have helped Portean family to collect funds for treatment in this clinic. And now, after first course of rehabilitation (lasted 60 days) the first positive results where seen.

Valentine”s immune system and metabolism improved and many locomotor function which were lost are now back. His legs muscles developed, his arms muscles, back, abdomen and neck muscles became stronger. His neck muscles increased and now he is able to turn his head to a wider angle in both directions, ability which he lost long time ago. The tendons of the hands and feet become more flexible, elongated, and the joint pain completely disappeared. His cardiopulmonary system improved and he has quite night sleep now. He is no longer plagued by pain, like before the treatment, the boy is less tired, his ability to speak improved and he can sit with more confidence. Valentin became active and more optimistic. His handwriting ability improved and he started to perform all the kinetotherapy exercises much easier.

When he was back from Poland, Valentin passed the exams in high school and received the diploma for learning achievement. And in the Theoretical Lyceum Mihai Eminescu (Anenii Noi city) Valentine was granted the award for promoting his Lyceum. He will continue his studies there.

His family express gratitude to everyone who cares about their son and are helping to cover all the expenses for his treatment.

Valentin completed only first out of six treatment courses. The cost of the one treatment course (60 days long) is 13,000 EUR. His parents asked us again for help. Thus we are opening fund raising for Valentin in the amount of 200 000 MDL which will partially cover the cost of the treatment.
